This is a french canadian desert, sweet, but, very yummy :) It is very nice served with vanilla ice cream. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar |
2 cups boiling water |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 tablespoons butter |
2 cups pastry flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup milk |
1 tablespoon butter |
Directions:
1. For the Sauce:. 2. Pour first 4 ingredients in large pan and bring to a boil over medium heat. 3. For the Dough:. 4. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add milk and melted butter. Mix well. 5. Drop dough mixture by spoonfuls into the sauce. Cover and let simmer for 15 minutes without lifting cover. 6. Serve warm. |
