I love using this sauce for any pasta I make. It's a sin to use jar sauce when you come from an Italian family. Ingredients:
4 garlic cloves (chopped) |
1/8 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon parsley |
1 teaspoon basil |
3 tablespoons sugar |
1 pinch clove |
1 (46 ounce) can tomato juice |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 pinch salt (to taste) |
1 pinch pepper (to taste) |
2 lbs hamburger |
1 egg |
1 cup italian breadcrumbs |
1 tablespoon parsley |
1 garlic clove (chopped) |
1/2 cup romano cheese |
Directions:
1. Mix together first 10 ingredients (down to pepper) for sauce and let simmer for approx 1 1/2 - 2 hours on low, stirring occasionally. 2. For meatballs mix together remaining ingredients, brown in a little oil then cook them in the sauce. 3. Once sauce is finished add to any pasta like spaghetti or ravioli. |
