A great cake recipe recommended by my Grandmother! Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine |
2 eggs |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup flour |
2 tablespoons cocoa |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) |
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine, softened |
2 tablespoons water |
1 1/4 cups icing sugar |
1 tablespoon cocoa |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Mix together eggs, butter, sugar and vanilla. 2. Add flour, cocoa and bakingg powder. 3. Add walnuts. 4. Bake in lightly greased 8x8 pan at 350F for 25-30 minutes. 5. Icing: Mix all ingredients together until smooth. 6. Spread over cake when cooled. |
