If your potato salad never tastes as good as Grama's it's because your not using this. I would call this a salad dressing but Grama always called it mayonaise. Doesn't matter what it's called its GOOD. Use on salads, coleslaw, sandwhiches, dips & a must for potato salad at our house. Ingredients:
3/4 cup vinegar + 1/4 water |
1 tbsp butter |
2 or 3 eggs |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 tbsp dry mustard |
1 tbsp cornstarch |
1 tsp salt |
Directions:
1. In Heavy sauce pan on med/low Bring to boil vinegar, water & butter. Remove from heat, cool slightly. 2. Mix together eggs, sugar, mustard, cornstarch & salt. Add/Wisk into pot. Bring slowly to boil again (low/med), stirring constantly. Remove from heat as soon as it starts to boil. Store in refrigerator. |
