I found this great treat recipe on all-natural-dog- It's completely grain free making it wonderful for pets who are allergic to grains and for owners who prefer to minimize the amount of grain products their pets eat. Note: This recipe can also be a good homemade meal for your dog. Sept, 2008: I originally published this recipe as a treat recipe. Since it doesn't seem to hold together very well it's now been changed to a dog food recipe. When I get a chance to play around with it I'll see if it can be made into a treat recipe again. I would only give this to my dog in small portions as a treat or to add flavour to her regular food. Ingredients:
1/2 lb ground beef, uncooked |
1/4 cup chicken broth or 1/4 cup beef broth |
1/3 cup black beans, cooked and mashed |
1/3 cup cottage cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. In a bowl, combine the beef and broth.
3. Add the mashed black beans and cottage cheese and mix well.
4. Place mixture into a casserole and bake for 45 minutes.
5. Allow mixture to cool.
