My late Uncle Al was an amazing chef, dinner at his house was always an experience. As a child I did not appreciate it as much as I did as an adult. I miss dinner at his house with his loud booming Soups On! . Here is one of his recipes. Ingredients:
3 lbs pot roast |
1/4 cup oil |
1/4 cup red wine |
1/4 cup ketchup |
2 tablespoons soya sauce |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1/2 teaspoon garlic |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
1 teaspoon rosemary |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in dutch oven. 2. Brown roast on all sides. 3. Add everyting else and simmer 2 hours, turning roast often. 4. Serve with whipped potatoes and glazed carrots. 5. Announce dinner with a loud yell to the household SOUPS ON! |
