I have had this recipe for a long time.. Kind of like a pudding.. This is the blurb that I found on line about it.. It is simple and GOOD! From a small catering business in Amarillo to their present incarnation in Austin, where they've feted British royalty (Prince Charles) and Texas common folk, Gourmet Gals are all over the map. Read more . This simple cobbler has an appealing, almost puddinglike consistency. Ingredients:
3/4 cup flour |
less than 1/8 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 3/4 cups sugar |
3/4 cup milk |
1/2 cup butter |
3 cups sliced fresh peaches peeled |
Directions:
1. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together. 2. Mix with 1 1/2 cups sugar. 3. Slowly stir in milk. 4. Melt butter in 8-by-8-by-2-inch pan (a larger pan makes a thinner crust). 5. Pour batter over butter; do not stir. 6. Lay peaches on batter. 7. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar or less. 8. Bake at 350 degrees. |
