Gooey caramel rolls that fill the whole house to a smell everyone loves to wake up to. When I make these on weekends they come running downstairs to the tune of are they done yet?! Ingredients:
3 1/2 cup flour |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 pack active dry yeast |
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup butter |
1 egg |
1/2 cup softened butter |
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
2 tablespoon light corn syrup |
1/4 cup chopped nuts |
2 tablespoon butter |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. In large bowl, combine 1 1/2c flour, 1/4c sugar, salt and yeast; blend well. 2. In small saucepan, heat 1c milk and 1/4c margarine until very warm (120F). 3. Add warm liquid and egg to flour mixture. 4. Blend at low speed with paddle attachment until moistened; beat 2 more min at med speed. 5. Use dough hook now and mix in an additional 1/2-1c flour until dough pulls away from sides of bowl. 6. Mix in remaining 1/2-1c flour until dough is smooth and elastic, about 5min. 7. Place in greased bowl; cover loosely with greased plastic wrap and cloth towel. 8. Let rise in warm place (80F) until light and doubled in size, about 45min. 9. Grease 13x9in pan. 10. In small bowl, combine brown sugar, 1/2c butter and corn syrup; blend well. 11. Drop mixture by spoonfuls into greased pan; spread evenly. 12. Sprinkle with nuts. Set pan aside. 13. Punch down dough several times to remove all air bubbles. 14. On lightly floured surface, roll dough into 15x12in rectangle. 15. Spread with 2tbsp softened butter. 16. In small bowl, combine 1/4c sugar and cinnamon. 17. Sprinkle evenly over dough. 18. Starting with 12in side, roll up tightly, pressing seam firmly to seal. 19. Cut into twelve 1in slices 20. Place them, cut side down, in greased pan. 21. Cover; let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size, about 1hr. 22. Pre-heat oven to 375F. 23. Uncover dough. 24. Bake 20-30min or until golden brown. 25. Cool in pan 1min; invert onto platter. 26. Serve warm. 27. Definiely worth the effort 28. Enjoy! |
