St Louis favorite from Best of the Best from Missouri cookbook... Ingredients:
1 (16 oz) box pound cake mix |
4 eggs, divided |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
1 (16 oz) box powdered sugar |
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese softened |
1 1/2 tbsp vanilla |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300* 2. Combine cake mix, 2 eggs, and the butter. 3. Pour into a well-greased 8 x 12 baking pan. 4. Reserve 2 Tbsp of sugar. 5. Combine cream cheese, vanilla remaining eggs and sugar; mix well. 6. Spread over batter. 7. Bake 15 minutes. 8. Remove from oven; Sprinke removed sugar on top. Return to oven. 9. Continue to bake for 25 minutes. 10. Serve warm or cool on rack. |
