Recipe adapted from 5 Ideas for Leftover Red Wine, page 157, February 2012. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
1 shallot, chopped |
3 large sage leaves, chopped |
1 cup red wine |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 lb mushroom, halved |
Directions:
1. Melt butter on medium heat in a 10-inch skillet. 2. Add shallots and sage; cook for 2 minutes. 3. Add wine, salt and pepper; boil on high for 1 minute. 4. Stir in mushrooms; reduce heat to medium. 5. Cover; cook for 5 minutes. 6. Uncover; cook for 12 minutes or until tender, stirring. |
