This is a delicious alternative to the traditional Apple and Cranberry Wassail that I usually serve during the Christmas holiday season. I make mine in the crock-pot, and let it simmer all day. Add a cup of golden rum, if desired. Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups apricot nectar |
4 cups unsweetened pineapple juice |
2 cups unsweetened apple cider or 2 cups apple juice |
1 cup orange juice |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
1 fresh lemon, sliced |
1 whole orange, halved |
10 whole cloves |
2 cinnamon sticks |
1 dash aromatic bitters (angostura bitters) |
1 cup golden rum (optional) |
Directions:
1. Stud the orange with cloves. 2. Place all ingredients into a large saucepan or a crock-pot, and heat until very hot. 3. Ladle into mugs and serve hot. |
