So easy, and very tasty!!! Ingredients:
1/2 cup long grain white rice |
1/2 cup orzo pasta |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon turmeric |
2 tablespoons minced dried onion flakes |
1 cup low sodium beef broth (low-sodium chicken broth works well, too, but tastes different) |
1 cup water |
salt |
grated romano cheese |
Directions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. 2. Add the rice and orzo. 3. Saute and stir until golden. 4. Gently pour in the beef broth and water. 5. Add the turmeric, garlic powder, onion flakes and salt. 6. Stir and bring to a boil. 7. Cover and reduce the flame. 8. Simmer for 20 minutes or until tender. 9. Serve and garnish with the Romano cheese. |
