This is my mother in law's recipe. It's divine Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1/2 cup diced celery |
8 ounces fresh mushrooms |
2 tablespoons flour |
2 cups milk |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of potato soup |
1 (2 ounce) jar chopped pimiento |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce |
12 ounces oysters |
Directions:
1. melt butter in dutch oven. 2. add onion and celery and cook 8 minutes. 3. add mushrooms and cook 5 more minutes. 4. add flour and cook 1 minute stirring constantly. 5. gradually stir in milk and cook stirring often for 5 minutes. 6. reduce heat to low and stir in cheese and next 5 ingriedients. 7. cook for 3 minutes stirring constanly. 8. add oysters and oyster liquer simmer 3 minutes and serve with oyster crackers. |
