Ingredients:
2 cups self-rising cornmeal |
1 small onion, finely chopped |
1 cup milk |
2 eggs, beaten |
vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Combine cornmeal and onion in a medium mixing bowl. Add milk and egg, stirring well. 2. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into deep hot oil (375°), cooking only a few at a time. Cook 2 minutes; turn and cook an additional 2 minutes or until hush puppies are golden brown. Drain well on paper towels. Serve hot. |
