Great comfort food. Goes well with soup and salad. Ingredients:
6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped |
1/2 cup diced cooked ham |
1/3 cup diced onion |
1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese |
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish |
2 tablespoons mayonnaise or 2 tablespoons salad dressing |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
butter or margarine, softened |
12 slices rye bread |
Directions:
1. In a bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients. 2. Butter one side of each slice of bread. 3. Place 6 slices on a griddle or skillet, buttered side down. 4. Spread about 1/3 cup filling on each slice. 5. Top with remaining bread, buttered side up. 6. Cook on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted. |
