I have not tried this recipe. I got this recipe from Tops market courtesy of Florida Agriculture Bureau Of Seafood & Aquaculture. Ingredients:
1 lb fresh florida lump crabmeat |
2 tablespoons red onions, minced |
2 tablespoons green bell peppers or 2 tablespoons red bell peppers, minced |
1 tablespoon garlic, minced |
2 egg whites |
3/4 cup mayonnaise |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
2 teaspoons old bay seasoning |
1 lemon, juice of |
salt and pepper |
cracker meal, as needed |
fresh breadcrumb, as needed |
olive oil, as needed for pan frying |
Directions:
1. In a medium sized bowl combine the first four ingredients. 2. In a separate bowl combine the next five ingredients and stir mixture until smooth. Add to crabmeat mixture; stir and gradually add cracker meal until cakes can be formed. 3. Roll formed cakes in the fresh bread crumbs and pan fry in olive oil over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. |
