Served warm, this cider is fruity and comforting, with a hint of spice. Ingredients:
3 cups apple cider |
1 (12 1/2 ounce) can apricot nectar |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
2 cinnamon sticks (3-inch) |
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves |
square cheesecloth (or unbleached muslin) |
kitchen twine |
Directions:
1. Heat cider, apricot nectar, and brown sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. 2. Tie cloves in a square of cheesecloth or muslin with kitch twine. 3. Add clove sachet and cinnamon sticks to cider and stir. 4. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes. 5. Remove and discard the spices before serving. 6. Serve warm; may garnish cups with a cinnamon stick, if desired. |
