Wonderful chicken dish. Makes a delicious gravy for potatoes. Ingredients:
1 chicken (or 6 breasts) |
1 can mushroom (or fresh sliced thin) |
1/4 cup melted butter |
1 tablespoon flour |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 bay leaf |
1 lemon, juice of |
1 can beef consomme |
Directions:
1. Cut up and brown chicken in large frying pan. 2. Place in casserole. 3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. 4. Brown mushrooms in butter. 5. Blend in flour, add worcestershire sauce, add bay leaf, lemon juice and beef consomme. 6. Bake 325 for 1 1/2 hours. 7. Add water if sauce seems to thick. |
