This is a great way to eat green beans. It is so easy to make yet so tasty, herby, creamy, cheesy and delightful. I usually double the recipe because we are so fond of this recipe. I have also made it with fresh broccoli or fresh cauliflower. Read more . It's even good using baby carrots but my favorite without a doubt is the green beans. Yummy. Ingredients:
4 bacon slices |
1 cup onion rings |
1/2 pound velveeta cheese spread, cubed |
1/4 cup milk |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
dash pepper |
18 ounces frozen whole green beans cooked and well drained |
1 cup seasoned croutons |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon until crisp then remove from skillet. 2. Drain fat reserving 1 tablespoon. 3. Cook onion in reserved bacon fat. 4. Add Velveeta and milk then heat until melted. 5. Crumble bacon and add along with seasonings and beans. 6. Pour into casserole and top with croutons. 7. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. |
