This is one of Donalee's recipes. It is an odd combination - but oh, so good! Ingredients:
2- 3 oz pkg orange gelatin (sugar-free preferred) |
2 c boiling water |
1- 6 oz can(s) frozen orange juice |
1 -16 oz can(s) mandarin oranges, drained |
1-20 oz can(s) crushed pineapple, drained |
1- 3 oz pkg vanilla or french vanilla instant pudding |
1 1/2 c cold milk |
1/2 c heavy cream, whipped |
1 c cheddar cheese, shredded |
Directions:
1. Mix together the milk, cream and cheddar cheese; set aside. 2. Stir gelatin into boiling water until dissolved. Add frozen orange juice and stir until melted. Pour into 9x13 baking dish; add pineapple and oranges then cover and chill until set. 3. Prepare pudding according to directions, using only 1 1/2 cups milk. Let it stand for 5 minutes. Then fold into whipped cream. Spread over the top of the set gelatin; then sprinkle with cheese. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or until ready to serve. |
