This is my mother's recipe for easy baked beans - always a hit at our family gatherings. Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) can pork and beans |
1/2 cup freshly minced onion |
1/2 cup freshly minced green pepper |
1/2 cup catsup |
1 cup velveeta cheese, grated or cut into small cubes |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon mustard |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Reserve 1/4 cheese. 2. Mix all ingredients together (except the 1/4 cheese). 3. Pour mixture in baking dish. 4. Bake at 250 for 25 minutes (or longer depending on how saucy or thickened you like your beans). 5. Add 1/4 cheese. 6. Bake 10 minutes more. |
