Glazed Spiced Pecans

Gr8 for when you have unexpected guests and you need to throw something together really fast and have it look and taste like you slaved all day.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 c pecans
1 c sugar
1 c water
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. rum of vanilla flavoring
Directions:
1. Heat nuts at 235 - 250 F for 15 min. Blend and cook sugar, water, salt and spices to soft ball stage. Do not stir. Add flavoring. Stir in nuts until creamy and coated. Turn onto wax paper, separating as they cool.
2. (At 235° F, the syrup is at the “soft-ball” stage. That means that when you drop a bit of it into cold water to cool it down, it will form a soft ball.)
