Use it as an appetizer, or a light dessert. Ingredients:
2/3 cup finely chopped walnuts or 2/3 cup finely chopped pecans |
1/4 cup kahlua or 1/4 cup amaretto |
3 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
12 ounces brie cheese (1 whole cheese) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Spread nuts across the bottom of an ungreased pie plate. Bake 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until toasted. Stir in liqueur, brown sugar and vanilla. 3. Reduce heat to 325°F Slice the top layer of rind off the Brie. Place the cheese in a small, ungreased baking dish and top with the nut syrup. Bake 8-10 minutes until cheese is hot and soft. Serve with crackers and slices of apple and pear. |
