A childhood favorite dish of my husband's. It's always a treat to him when I make this and it's really easy!! You can add green peppers and more seasonings if you'd like - the recipe is the way my mother in law made it for my husband and I tend to make it this way as well. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained |
1 small onion, chopped |
3/4 cup rice |
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. brown ground beef and onion together, drain. 2. add chili powder, rice and undrained can of tomatoes. 3. simmer, covered until rice is cooked through. |
