Fragrant and tasty pumpkin bread recipe I received from my dear friend Gini about 30 years ago. A great gift bread. Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups flour |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1/4 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon clove |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 cup oil |
1/2 cup water |
1 cup pumpkin puree (canned is ok) |
2 eggs |
1 cup chopped dates |
1 cup chopped nuts |
Directions:
1. Grease and flour a loaf pan. 2. Preheat oven to 325°. 3. Sift dry ingredients together. 4. Mix oil, water, pumpkin, and eggs together. 5. Blend in dry ingredients. 6. Fold in dates and nuts. 7. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. |
