Tote chilled limeade in a thermos. Grated ginger adds zip, but you can omit it for a classic version. Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup boiling water |
1 1/2 teaspoons grated peeled fresh ginger |
1 1/2 teaspoons grated lime rind |
3/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 4 limes) |
2 1/2 cups cold water |
4 lime slices (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk until sugar dissolves. Strain mixture through a sieve into a pitcher. Add juice and 2 1/2 cups cold water. Chill completely. Serve with lime slices, if desired. |
