This is one of Libby's old newspaper clipping recipes. I haven't made it and they never tell how much flour so I am going to guess.
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup lard
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 egg
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 grated orange, rind of
2 cups flour (enough to make stiff dough)
Directions:
1. Roll into a stiff dough.
2. Put in refrigerator for 2 hours.
3. Roll into a log.
4. Slice off in thin slices.
5. Bake in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes or until golden.
