This is one of Libby's old newspaper clipping recipes. I haven't made it and they never tell how much flour so I am going to guess. Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
1/3 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup lard |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon molasses |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 grated orange, rind of |
2 cups flour (enough to make stiff dough) |
Directions:
1. Roll into a stiff dough. 2. Put in refrigerator for 2 hours. 3. Roll into a log. 4. Slice off in thin slices. 5. Bake in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes or until golden. |
