Yet another tasty treat from my sister Carol Keates. This happens to be one of my favorite cookies....Hope Ian likes them when he is older.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon clove
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup granulated sugar
Directions:
1. Cream shortening, sugar, egg and molasses.
2. Stir in flour, spices, baking soda and baking powder.
3. Shape into walnut size balls.
4. Roll into granulated sugar.
5. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
6. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
7. Cool.
