Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
6 cups water |
1/4 cup ginger |
4 pears |
1 dash lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Peel pears and squirt with a dash of lemon juice (if desired will keep pears from turning brown) Slice and peel ginger to make 1/4 cup. 2. Put sugar, water and ginger in a pot and cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. 3. Add 4 peeled pears and poach in simmering liquid until tender. 4. Reduce liquid to a syrup. 5. Serve reduced liquid over pears. |
