Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 eggs, beaten |
3/4 cup molasses |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons ground ginger |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 cup boiling water |
Directions:
1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and molasses, beating until smooth 2. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients; stir well 3. Spoon batter into a preheated, lightly oiled waffle iron, following manufacturer's directions. Cook 5 minutes or until brown and crisp. Repeat procedure with remaining batter. |
