Gingerbread Latte Filling captures the coziness of favorite holiday flavors between layers of white cake. Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups heavy cream |
1/3 cup molasses |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
2 large eggs |
2 teaspoons instant espresso |
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Whisk together first 7 ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, whisking constantly, 10 to 12 minutes or until mixture reaches a chilled pudding-like thickness. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Cool to room temperature (about 1 hour). Place plastic wrap directly on mixture (to prevent a film from forming), and chill 6 to 24 hours. |
