This recipe is perfect on a cold winter night or during the Christmas season! Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side and a nice big cup of hot chocolate! Ingredients:
-1 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour |
-1/2 cup sugar |
-1/2 cup brown sugar |
-1/2 cup cocoa powder |
-2 teaspoons ground ginger |
-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
-1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
-1 teaspoon ground cloves |
-1/4 cup melted butter |
-1/3 cup molasses |
-2 eggs |
-powdered sugar (optional) |
-vanilla ice cream (optional) |
Directions:
1. -preheat oven to 350F. 2. -in large bowl combine flour, brown and white sugar, cocoa powder, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and cloves. set aside. 3. -in small bowl combine melted butter, molasses and eggs and add to flour mixture, stirring until well combined. Do not beat (the batter will be thick). 4. -spread batter in greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. bake for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. DO NOT OVERBAKE! 5. -take out of oven and cool on wire rack for about 5 minutes. 6. -dust with powdered sugar (optional). 7. -cut into about 24 squares. 8. -serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (optional) and a cup of hot chocolate (optional)! 9. -enjoy! |
