This is another recipe from my grandmother. It's great served warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Ingredients:
3 large eggs |
1/2 cup dark karo syrup |
1 cup sour milk |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
3 cups flour |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1 cup shortening |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Grease and flour and 9 x 13 pan. 2. Make sour milk by adding 1 tsp of vinegar to a cup of milk. 3. Mix all ingredients together and put into the pan. 4. Bake at 350° until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, approximately 30 minutes. |
