Ingredients:
3/4 cup shortening
2 large eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ginger
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup sorghum
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup raisins
Directions:
1. Cream together shortening, eggs, sugar and syrup; add buttermilk.
2. Sift dry ingredients together and add to wet mixture.
3. Mix well, pour into a greased and floured pan.
4. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until done.
