Ginger-Whole Wheat Waffles |

Crystallized ginger and honey offer spicy-sweet flavor. Top these warm waffles with our syrup or your favorite bottled brand. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups whole wheat pancake-and-waffle mix |
1/3 cup chopped crystallized ginger |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 cup whole milk |
4 tablespoons honey |
3 tablespoons olive or canola oil |
1 large egg |
strawberry-maple syrup |
Directions:
1. Stir together first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl. Add milk and next 3 ingredients, stirring until smooth. Let stand 5 minutes. 2. Cook batter in a preheated, lightly greased waffle iron until crisp and brown. Serve immediately with Strawberry-Maple Syrup. 3. Note: We tested with Aunt Jemima Whole Wheat Blend Pancake & Waffle mix. 4. Note: Nutritional analysis includes about 2 3/4 Tbsp. syrup. |
