My husband was put on a very low sodium diet. Among a few things he misses is Soy Sauce. This is a replacement sauce for him. It does not taste at all like Soy sauce, but adds flavor. I have tried it with hot pepper flakes added as well, if you want more spice. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups water |
4 black tea bags |
2 garlic cloves, cut in half |
1/2 small onion, chopped |
6 peppercorns |
1 inch fresh ginger |
Directions:
1. Remove the strings form the bags, or use loose tea in cheese cloth. 2. Place all ingredients in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil. 3. Reduce heat. Simmer 15 minutes. 4. Strain. 5. Allow to cool. |
