From Vegetarian Times Healing Foods Cookbook Winter 2011. This tea has helped my mother get over the flu and has stopped me from developing a full-blown case of it. We drank one cup a day. Ingredients:
1 fresh ginger, thinly-sliced into 12 pieces and pounded |
1 tablespoon honey (to taste) |
3 cups water |
Directions:
1. Put ginger and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 20 to 25 minutes. 2. Strain slices and discard. Stir in honey. I generally use 1 to 1 1/2 tsp of honey for a cup. I don't worry too much about peeling the ginger, as long as it has been cleaned. |
