Ginger Snaps With Oatmeal

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup quick cooking oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
sugar
Directions:
1. Stir together first 6 ingredients and 1/4 teaspoon salt
2. Blend in shortening, molasses and egg
3. Beat well with electric mixer for 2 minutes
4. Form into 1-inch balls
5. Roll in sugar; place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
6. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 - 10 minutes
7. Let stand 1 minute; cool on rack
