Ginger Snaps With Oatmeal |

Courtesy of Better Homes & Gardens Cookies Cookbook from 1975. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour |
1 cup sugar |
3/4 cup quick cooking oats |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/2 cup shortening |
1/4 cup molasses |
1 egg |
sugar |
Directions:
1. Stir together first 6 ingredients and 1/4 teaspoon salt 2. Blend in shortening, molasses and egg 3. Beat well with electric mixer for 2 minutes 4. Form into 1-inch balls 5. Roll in sugar; place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. 6. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 - 10 minutes 7. Let stand 1 minute; cool on rack 8. ******************************************** 9.
