                    Found it in my AMC cookbook! Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                4 pears  |  
                                                1/2 teaspoon ground ginger  |  
                                                2 tablespoons corn syrup  |  
                                                1/2 cup dry white wine  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Wash the pears. 2. Do not peel them. 3. Place in a saucepan. 4. Add the remaining ingredients. 5. Cover and heat the pan over medium flame for 5-7 minutes. 6. Reduce heat to low. 7. Cook for 20 minutes or until pears are soft when pierced with a fork. 8. Chill in sauce and serve with ice cream!                              |
