Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon baking soda |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
4 cups quick-cooking oats |
1 1/2 cups raisins |
1 1/4 cups sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger |
1 cup butter or margarine, melted |
1 cup sorghum |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
2 tablespoons hot water |
2 large eggs, lightly beaten |
1 to 2 tablespoons water |
1/2 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl; add butter and next 4 ingredients, stirring until blended. 2. Divide dough into 20 (2-inch) balls. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets; flatten each ball to 1/4-inch thickness. Brush tops with 1 to 2 tablespoons water, and sprinkle evenly with 1/2 cup sugar. 3. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. |
