Chewy & spicy, these are hard to resist. Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup molasses |
1 egg |
sugar (optional) |
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt. 2. In a large bowl, beat together brown sugar, butter, molasses and egg until smooth. 3. Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth. 4. Refrigerate 1 hour. 5. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar, if desired. 6. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press flat with a glass dipped in sugar. 7. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. |
