Ingredients:
3 ounces vodka |
1/2 to 1 ounce ginger syrup, recipe follows |
1/2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice |
candied ginger and lime twist, for garnish |
1 lemon |
2 cups coarsely chopped fresh ginger with peel (about 8 ounces) |
1 cup sugar |
2 cups water |
Directions:
1. Fill a cocktail shaker or small pitcher with ice. Add vodka, ginger syrup, and lime juice. Cover and shake or stir vigorously until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with candied ginger and lime twist and serve. 2. 1. Remove outer peel of lemon (without white pith) with a vegetable peeler. Finely chop peel and ginger in a food processor. 3. 2. Transfer lemon-ginger mixture to a medium saucepan. Add sugar and water and bring to a boil.
