First tried this when I came to NZ, has been a fav ever since. Ingredients:
4 ounces butter |
4 ounces sugar |
7 ounces flour |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
2 tablespoons butter |
4 tablespoons icing sugar |
2 teaspoons golden syrup |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add sifted dry ingredients. 3. Mix well and press into a greased shallow tin ( 28cm x 18cm slice pan). 4. Bake 20-25 minutes at 375F degrees. 5. -Topping-. 6. Put all ingredients into a saucepan. 7. Heat until melted. 8. Then pour over cake when hot. 9. Cut into squares before it gets cold. 10. May double topping if desired. |
