A family favorite and fun to make for Christmas. Ingredients:
3/4 cup crisco |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg, beaten |
1/4 cup molasses |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
colored crystal sugar |
Directions:
1. Mix the Crisco, sugar, and egg on a mixer at a medium speed and then add molasses. 2. Mix *In separate bowl* the baking soda, flour, ginger and cinamon and then add to the other ingredients. 3. Refrigerate overnight. 4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 5. Roll in balls *carful! the dough may crumble* and dip in sugar so the top of the ball is covered. 6. On a greased cookie sheet, press the balls down with a fork *pressing down is optional*. 7. Cook for 10-20 minutes. |
