These cookies go really fast. I always have to double the batch. If you like to use cut outs and make them into different shapes it works great too. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup sugar |
3/4 cup shortening |
1 egg |
1/4 cup dark molasses |
Directions:
1. Mix all the dry ingredients together: baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. 2. Blend together the sugar, shortening, egg and molasses and pour into dry ingredients, mix well and form into balls. Press down to 1/2 inches, sprinkle sugar on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes until starts to crack on top. |
