Serve with a dollop of whipped cream for a great Christmas dinner dessert. Ingredients:
2 1/3 cup all-purpose flour |
1/3 cup sugar |
1 cup molasses ( i use grandma's) |
3/4 cup hot water |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1 lg egg |
1/2 tsp salt |
1 tsp baking soda |
1 tsp ground ginger |
1 tsp ground cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Prepare a 9x9 baking pan with nonstick pan spray and flour. 3. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl, beat on low with mixer until combined. 4. Scrape down sides and and mix on medium for about 3 more minutes. 5. Pour into prepared baking pan. 6. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. 7. Cool on rack for 10-15 minutes before removing to serving plate. |
