The next best thing to a good old-fashioned malted shake! Ingredients:
1 cup butter-flavored shortening |
1 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed |
1/2 cup malted milk powder |
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup |
1 tablespoon vanilla extract |
1 egg |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks |
1 cup milk chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mix at medium speed with an electric mixer for 2 minutes. Add egg; mix well and set aside. 2. Stir together flour, soda and salt; add shortening mixture, mixing well. Fold in chocolate. Shape dough into 1/2-cup balls; press down to form 3 1/2-inch round discs. Arrange 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. 3. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes; remove to a wire rack to cool completely. |
