What a wonderful Southern tradition. Slice a big ol biscuit and smother it with sausage gravy. What a great way to start the day. Ingredients:
1 lb pork sausage |
2 tablespoons onions, finely chopped |
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 quart milk |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 dash worcestershire sauce |
1 dash hot pepper sauce |
1 pinch nutmeg (optional) |
Directions:
1. Brown sausage and onion. 2. Pour off excess grease. 3. Make white sauce with remaining ingredients. 4. Cook until desired thickness and add sausage. 5. Heat until warm. 6. Serve over hot biscuits. |
