One of those handwritten things, which has been in my folder forever. Since we have a bumper crop of swiss chard, it is appearing regularly on the table. Not German, but I frequently add Feta Cheese when served. Ingredients:
2 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach |
1 large onion, chopped |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
2 tablespoons butter (or margarine) |
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled |
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Cook spinach according to package directions. 2. Drain well and set aside. 3. In a large skillet, saute onion and garlic in butter until tender. 4. Stir in spinach, bacon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. 5. Heat through. |
