This is a Gooseberry Patch recipe; submitted by Lynn Cisco. Ingredients:
3 lbs beef short ribs |
2 tablespoons oil |
10 1/2 ounces french onion soup |
1 cup water |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
2 -3 slices pumpernickel bread, crumbled |
cooked egg noodles |
Directions:
1. In a large soup pot over medium heat, brown ribs in oil for 6 to 8 minutes; drain. Add soup, water, lemon juice and seasonings; bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir in bread and serve over noodles. |
